With Covid on the wane and spring around the corner there is a lot of pent up energy to get out of our hidey holes and paint again with friends among the Plein Air Washington Artists!
That was quite evident Sunday in Edmonds during our Paint In at Art Works. I counted over 40 artists set up with paint gear and easels happily painting away and visiting old and new friends.
It was so crowded I scooted into the back room to paint one of the still life set ups for my first painting. Nadia Hakki, second place winner at the PAWA Winter Show was kind enough to make a space for me.
Folks continued to come in and find spots to set up. We had two marvelous models and several sill life set ups to pick from.
About mid-day our president, Jenelle Kroner got everyones attention to go over some events planned for the 2022 season including a new opportunity for PAWA members to display juried work at Gallery at the Park during a three day exhibition and paint out in Richland WA. Check the PAWA website for more info on this event and others!
After lunch I tried my hand at both of the excelent models and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon chatting with artists and painting.
Big thanks to all involved in organizing and facilitating events! Call Janelle if you are interested in helping out in any way.
I look forward to seeing you at a PAWA event this year!!
