Plein Air Washington Artists wrapped up the year at the Holiday Paint In where we all met at the Art Center in Edmonds again this year. We are all grateful for the Art Center in Edmonds! A perfect central location and a great space to accommodate many artists.
The morning started out setting up tables for the pot luck. Others worked on stations for still life setups and areas for the models to sit. Thanks again to our amazing models who put a lot of thought and work into their costumes!
They were amazing!
Artists kept arriving and setting up to paint as the day went on happy to see friends and painting pals again and emphasizing how this vibrant club is a big family to many of us.
Mid-day Susan McManamen, Videographer of PAWA and filling in for Janelle Kroner our president who recently had a baby boy, filled us in on upcoming events and gave us a tour of the PAWA website. If you haven't explored all the tabs on the website take some time and check out all the features that have been added, many that you may not be aware of.
The afternoon was filled with more painting, laughter and stories of painting adventures in Washington state and beyond as we all enjoyed the fellowship of meeting together doing what we love!
A special treat for me was discovering that Ned Mueller, one of the founding members of PAWA did a drawing of me while I was painting! Ned is a master painter and a great resource for plein air painters starting out in this business. His website has workshop and online class information along with demo videos and more. If you see Ned out in the field you will probably find Karen his wife along side. Karen is another amazing artist and together they make a great team! You will be sure to learn something that will help your painting and drawing skills as well as meeting a mentor and friend to many artists.
