PAWA member Steve Hill

We thought you might enjoy getting to know a little more about some of our professional members, so here, in his own words is Steve Hill:

I just won my 60th award in a major juried art competition (since 2003) at Red Rock Art Festival, Moab, Utah in October. "Artists Choice" award - image attached. "First Light" painted en plein air along the Colorado River 20 miles east of Moab in freezing morning temps (27 degrees)

Today is my 73rd birthday. (2 photos attached from Deadhorse Point , Canyonlands National Park, as I was caught painting "Flashpoint at Deadhorse" by a group of Roads Scholars photographers) which is about as current a mug shot as I can muster. My goal was to paint the sunrise at exactly sunrise and not take it a step beyond what was blinding me in the distance! Had to arrive and set-up in the dark to be ready. That painting also attached.

My 75th workshop in pastel painting will be next June 7-16 at Perigord Retreats in France (Dordogne region). Link provided here. https://perigord-retreats.com/steve-hill-workshop/
